It seems like Micromax is on an urge to launch new products in quick succession. After the success of its first tablet device a 7 inch Micromax funbook, it is expected to have an improved version of its first offering. Micromax recently announced its 10 inch tablet device Micromax funbook pro.
So it is expected that Micromax will soon release an improved version of its 7 inch tablet. Micromax funbook has a physical home, back and menu buttons. Since Android 4 ice cream sandwich avoid the need of a physical button, it looks a bit odd to have a physical button on a budget device. It is probably due to the fact that Micromax might designed the tablet at the time of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
So the new improved funbook, I rather say Micromax funbook Alpha, as expected have the same configuration like the original funbook but without the physical buttons. This makes the device look awesome and directly competes with the Karbonn Smart tab from the appealing perspective.
Micromax funbook Alpha still ships with the Android 4.0.3 Ice cream sandwich, which is odd at this time. Particularly when its shipping many days after Android 4.1 Jelly bean released. I would be happy if it ship with Android 4.1 Jelly bean out of the box.
