After all the push from Google for Google plus, I don’t understand why Google didn’t come up with a Chrome webapp for it. I was still searching for a Google plus Chrome webapp. I do know Google have few extensions Google plus like the Google plus notification and Google plus like button. But I prefer to go to the Google plus website rather than using a extension.
Wondering why Google doesn’t care more about Chrome webstore webapps. Is the Google Chrome webstore is not a success? I don’t think so, at least few percentage of Google Chrome users would like to have webapps to access their favorite sites.
UPDATE: Now there is a Google plus Chrome webapp, you can get it at this location.
Not only Google plus lacking a Chrome webapp, lots of other Google services also didn’t have a webapp like blogger,Google analytics etc. Did Google abandoned chrome webstore? No, Google recently updated icons for the Google reader, Google docs, Google calendar and Google book’s webapps. Also they improved the Chrome webstore design. So I believe Google didn’t abandoned the Chrome Webstore yet. I do believe they might be working on some kind of webapp for Google plus. But what about a webapp for Google plus with offline access like the one for Gmail. And what about a webapp to go directly to a hangout ?
But until then, if you need a webapp for sites that doesn’t provide like Google plus you can use these work around to add sites that didn’t have a web app. Though the icons of the webapps not looking great, it still does the job. Credit: Digital inspiration
